The reinforcement device is poured into the bottom of the bathtub and consists of an air-filled spacer in glass fi reinforced plastic, adapted to the bottom structure of the bathtub. The design of the spacer mold allows cast marble to effectively surface around the entire spacer mold during casting.
With this method, the mass of cast marble can be reduced to almost half and then also the weight to almost half. The cooling of the finished bathtub takes place very quickly and can be taken out of the mold fl times faster than with the previous manufacturing method, which reduces the manufacturing cost.

Gelcoat is a thermosetting plastic used as a protective outer layer in the bathtub. It forms a glassy surface. The gelcoat is used to protect against moisture, UV radiation, mechanical surface damage and high temperatures. Gelcoat does not smell, does not bend and does not show any cracks. With the gelcoat you can get the desired colors on the bathtub and also different colors on the inside and outside of the bathtub. To place the spacer molds at the exact distance between the male and female of the mold, the spacer mold is provided with knobs that support the gelcoat when the mold is closed. Through this method of manufacturing the bathtub, another effect is also obtained, as one can use the void in the spacer form, to achieve e.g. a bubble bath. By drilling into the spacer shape in suitable places, you can get both a connection for air pump and holes for air discharge where the bubbles are to form. This means that the bathtub can be specially adapted to the customer's wishes about where the bubbles should occur, perhaps mostly under the back or mostly under the legs or shoulders. The method thus allows you to get a flexible bathtub, where you can later turn it into a whirlpool bathtub. An embodiment of the invention is described in the following and is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which according to Fig. 1 shows a section through a marble-molded bathtub with no distance in the bottom.

The spacer mold (10) forms a cavity (9) between the upper part (7) of the bottom, the side (4) of the bath (1) and the lower part (8) of the bottom. The bathtub (1) also has a strong upper edge (5) which provides extremely good stability for the entire bathtub (1) and facilitates handling when moving. The side (4) of the bathtub (1) is designed so that it functions as a base (3) in its lower part. The bathtub (1) is completely open (6) in its lower part under the base (3).

This means that the bathtub (1) can be specially adapted to the customer's wishes about where the bubbles should occur, perhaps mostly under the back or mostly under the legs or shoulders. The method thus allows you to get a ibable bath (1), where you can later turn it into a whirlpool.
Invention has been described in accordance with the preferred formulation and design, and it is to be understood that certain substitutions and modifications may be made without departing from the spirit. The example now described shows how the method is used for bathtubs in cast marble. Of course, the method can also be used in the manufacture of sinks or other structures in cast marble. Likewise, the spacer shape can be designed with a channel on the side of the bathtub, from the bottom and up to the edge of the bathtub. In this channel, hoses etc. can be placed. The example described above shows how a whirlpool bath can be arranged. In a similar way, a massage bathtub can be arranged by drilling into the void space of the spacer in suitable places, whereby one gets both a connection for a water pump and a hole for water exhaust where the water is to provide massage. A combination of a spa bath and a spa bath can also be achieved. The invention should thus not be taken as limited to what has been shown and described above, but such variants are included in the inventive concept and may be considered to be included within the scope of the appended claims.
